The Laurus Trust
Gorsey Bank Primary School converted to Academy Status on 1st October 2016 and is now a proud member of the Laurus Trust.
The founder school of the Laurus Trust is Cheadle Hulme High School, a hugely oversubscribed academy converter and Teaching School with a reputation for outstanding teaching and learning (Ofsted Outstanding in every category 2011, 2015 and placed in the Sunday Times ‘Parent Power’ top 25 comprehensive schools in the country).
The Laurus Vision is for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and to work hard to achieve them. Our pupils will learn about the importance of success, and how to cope with setbacks, not as failure but as a springboard to better achievement.
As well as being unashamedly academic, Laurus Schools will focus on developing each pupil’s self-confidence and voice skills and we will inspire our pupils to broaden their horizons and believe that ‘anything is possible’, as we understand that this is absolutely key to post-education success.
Laurus has taken a pro-active role in addressing the short-fall in places within Greater Manchester and we have four Free Schools in the pre-opening phase: Cheadle Hulme Primary School, Laurus Cheadle Hulme (an 11-16 High School), Didsbury High School (11- 18) and a further school in Tameside (11-18).
We look forward to sharing more news about the Laurus Trust as our role within it develops and evolves. In the meantime, please click on the icon below to view The Laurus Multi Academy Trust website
